The 42nd European Heritage Days will take place from September 20 to 21, 2025, on the theme of “architectural heritage.”
At the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, this theme resonates in a special way: a true work of art, imagined by Béatrice de Rothschild, the Villa combines architecture, refined interiors, and exceptional gardens, embodying the spirit of the Belle Époque. Enjoy guided tours on Saturday and Sunday, and a video mapping show on Saturday evening.
For their 42nd edition, the European Heritage Days shine a spotlight on “architectural heritage” in all its richness and diversity. From emblematic monuments to vernacular constructions, from interior décors to furnishings, architecture emerges as a powerful marker of local, national, and European history, of cultural identity, and of collective memory. More than a simple living environment, it embodies artistic and technical know-how, shapes urban and rural landscapes, and reflects the evolution of our societies through the centuries. The year 2025 also marks the centenary of the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts, a founding event of the Art Deco movement. This national commemoration will be highlighted by exhibitions and conferences, offering the opportunity to rediscover an exceptional creative heritage.
The European Heritage Days are organized by the French Ministry of Culture and coordinated locally by the Regional Directorates of Cultural Affairs (DRAC). Under the patronage of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, they benefit from the support of public and private owners of historic monuments.
